Refund Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Draft notice. This document is a starting template and must be reviewed by a Puerto Rico–licensed attorney before it takes effect. Refund rules vary by event type and jurisdiction; review with counsel who knows DACO consumer-protection rules.

This Refund Policy explains when and how refunds are issued for tickets purchased through the Puerto Rico Cycling ticketing platform (the "Platform"). It works alongside the Terms of Service and any policy posted by the event organizer for a specific event.

1. Who Issues a Refund

The Platform is not the seller of any ticket — the event organizer is. When a refund is issued, the underlying funds come from the organizer's payout. We facilitate the refund through the same payment provider (Stripe or ATH Móvil) used for the original purchase.

2. Event Cancellation by the Organizer

If an organizer cancels an event entirely, the buyer is entitled to a refund of the base ticket price (the amount listed for the tier purchased). Service and transaction fees charged by the Platform and by the payment processors are generally non-refundable, because those amounts have already been earned or paid through to the providers. Where applicable Puerto Rico law requires a different result, the law governs.

3. Event Postponement or Material Change

If an organizer materially changes the date, time, or venue of an event, the buyer may either:

  • Keep the ticket and attend the rescheduled event, or
  • Request a refund of the base ticket price, subject to Section 2.

The buyer must notify the organizer (or contact us) within fourteen (14) days of the change being announced.

4. Buyer-Initiated Cancellations

Tickets are generally non-refundable if the buyer changes their mind, cannot attend, or fails to attend ("no-show"), unless the event organizer's published policy allows otherwise. Each event listing displays the organizer's refund policy before checkout — review it before purchasing.

5. Errors and Duplicate Charges

If you were charged in error (duplicate purchase, wrong ticket quantity due to a Platform bug), contact us within thirty (30) days of the charge and we will investigate. Confirmed errors are refunded in full, including fees.

6. Refund Method and Timing

Stripe (card) — refunds are issued back to the original card. Funds typically appear in five (5) to ten (10) business days, depending on the issuing bank.

ATH Móvil — refunds are issued through the ATH Móvil refund service back to the buyer's ATH Móvil account. Timing is controlled by Evertec and ATH Móvil; we initiate the refund within three (3) business days of approval. ATH Móvil does not currently support chargebacks; if you have a dispute, contact us first.

7. Service / Transaction Fees

The line items labeled "Service fee" and "Transaction fee" on your receipt are paid to the payment processor and to the Platform. These are non-refundable except in the case of a Platform error (Section 5) or where required by law.

8. Disputes

If you believe a refund was denied in error, contact us at the address below. You may also file a complaint with the Puerto Rico Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO) or the equivalent agency in your state of residence.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes apply prospectively — tickets purchased before a change are governed by the policy in effect at the time of purchase.

10. Contact

Questions about a specific refund should be sent to [contact email] with the order/transaction reference from your receipt.
